Rest in Peace, Susan
Susan passed away on December 26, 2012 at the age of 63. She is survived by: Better half Daniel Gilman, brothers Daniel and Gary Stone, sisters Marilyn and Donna Stone, sons Danny, Michael, and David Chropka, grandchildren Joey and Grace Chropka.
Susan's husband, Joe Chropka, a Marine, died of Hotchkin's Disease when he was 27, leaving her with three small boys, the youngest in diapers. She raised the boys on her own and did an excellent job. Susan moved to Anchorage, Alaska in the early '90s and resided there for about 20 years. Health concerns caused her to move to Indianapolis last year. The day after Christmas she died of Cervical, Pancreatic, and Liver cancer. Susan was a gentle, intelligent, kind natured person who was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She'll be missed always.

Reading this made me feel very sad... I knew Susan pretty well in junior high and have fond memories of her to this day. I remember her playing the lead in our 9th grade one act play and she was very good. From the first time she picked up the script it was like the role was made for her. May she rest in peace.

Susan and I went to school from kindergarten on (3rd & 6th Ave schools in Pine Hill) will always have fond memories of her. I remember her birthday party in the 6th grade down in the basement. First time we ever played records and danced! Her good friend, Betty Ann Caldwell, moved to Runnemede or there abouts and went to Triton H.S. for 7th grade on, so sadly I never saw her again...hey Betty Ann wherever you are!
R.I.P. Susan Stone....you were cool!!
