Karen A. ScepanskyAGE: 67 • Cherry HillOn June 5, 2012. Dear sister of the late Peggy Jane Summers. Dear cousin of Mary Bernath of Fl. Karen is also survived by many loving friends who she considered as her family. Karen earned a Bachelor of Music Degree from Marywood College, Scranton, PA in 1966. She went on to earn a Master of Arts Degree in 1980 and a Principal Certification in 1983 from Glassboro State College (Rowan). She conducted All-South Jersey Junior and Senior Choruses from 1982-1996. Recently earlier this year, she received the Distinguished Music Service Award from NJ Music Educator Assoc. Karen studied under several prominent musicians including Robert Shaw at Westminster Choir College. She was a member of the American Guild of Organists and a member of the Jubilate Deo Chorale & Orchestra. She was also a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at Christ Our Light Church. Relatives and friends of the family will meet for her viewings on Sunday evening from 7pm to 9pm and on Monday morning from 9:30am to10:30am in the BOCCO FUNERAL HOME, 1300 North Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00am at The Catholic Community Of Christ Our Light Church, 402 North Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ. Interment St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Burlington, NJ. Karen was a generous supporter of many charitable organizations, and therefore in lieu of flowers a donation in Karen A. Scepansky's memory to a charity of your choice will be appreciated.
