Peggy was born in Detroit, MI on May, 18 1944. The family later moved back East and by 1948 established a home in Pine Hill which remains in the family today. Peggy Jane Harris, daughter of Carl H. Harris Sr. and Doris M. (Riley) Harris, both deceased, is survived by her two sons, Martin A. Elfrey and Jeffrey A. Elfrey, both of whom reside in Houston, TX. Grandson, Drew R. Gibbs of Mt. Laurel. Siblings, John H. Harris and Julia A. Tobin. She also had a younger brother, Carl H. Harris Jr., deceased. Peggy is loved and will be missed by a significant number of extended family members including: Nieces, Kimberly A. Wilson, Sharon Harris-Lindenberger, Paula Harris-Peterson, Lindsay Harris. Nephews, Edward W. Wilson and Carl H. Harris III. Great-Nieces/Nephews, Chelsy Lindenberger, Travis Lindenberger, Kinsey Lindenberger, William C. Minerva, Carl H. Harris IV, Oliver J. Peggy had a varied and interesting career over the course of her life. Some notable jobs include Administrative Assistant to Congressman James Florio (Later Governor of New Jersey), Borough Clerk for the Borough of Chesilhurst, Secretary of the Board of Education for the Borough of Chesilhurst (Peggy was an integral part of the team that brought the first elementary school to Chesilhurst thus eliminating the need to bus children to Hammonton). In her late 30's Peggy's life took another interesting turn when she decided to go to school and became a licensed Cosmotologist. When Peggy's sons, Martin and Jeffrey started an electrical contracting firm in Houston, Texas, in 1996, she packed up and moved to Texas to become the Office Manager and first official employee of the new company. Once the company was up and running, Peggy moved back to New Jersey where she assisted her niece Kimberly A. Wilson in the beginning stages of her law practice. In her final days, she was a Nanny to her great-nephew, Oliver, who lovingly nicknamed her "Popeye."
