Kerry “Sam” Owens

Born March 1, 1952 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Died unexpectedly March 4, 2016 in Florissant, Colorado.

Sam was preceded by his parents, Russell Owens and Roberta Reighard. He is survived by his lifelong companion Sandra Gallant of Florissant, Colorado. Sam served on the USS Barry with an honorable discharge on April 7, 1975.

Sam was a police officer for the Linderwold Police Force in New Jersey during the mid to late 70’s. Sam moved to Florida and was certified by the State of Florida as a Security Officer in the year 2000 and worked in security while living in Florida.

In 2005 Sam was certified as a Fire Alarm System Agent by the State of Florida and was a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NAPA). Sam met his lifelong companion, Sandra Gallant, while living in Florida and they moved to Florissant Colorado in 2011.

Sam was a generous and kind man always willing to help anyone in need. Sam had a special place in his heart for all animals and nature. Sam enjoyed photography and found peace and solitude in the high deserts of Colorado.

A celebration of life will be held at the Mountain Memorial in Divide Colorado on June 16, 2016 at 7pm.
