Barry Raymond Marx, Sr.

December 2, 1943 - January 28, 2021

Barry Raymond Marx, Sr., 77, husband of Suzanne Margaret (Halfmann) Marx of Parkside Drive in Raphine, Virginia passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. 

Mr. Marx was born in Camden County, New Jersey on December 2, 1943, a son of the late Howard Ludwig and Elizabeth (Charles) Marx. 

Barry was a member of the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, served in the United States Navy, and retired in 2006 from Alcoa where he was employed as an electrician. Barry enjoyed the outdoors especially riding his motorcycle. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Marx was preceded in death by a son, Brian Douglas Marx. 

Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-two years, are two sons, Stephen Marx of New Jersey and Barry Raymond Marx, Jr. and his wife Karen of Waynesboro; a daughter, Kelly S. Koogler and her husband Chris of Raphine; three brothers, Robert Marx and Howard Marx both of Florida, and Ronald Marx of New Jersey; a sister, Barbara Rizzo of Oklahoma; six grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. 

Those desiring may pay their respects from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory
in Staunton. 

Mr. Marx’s body will be taken to Knight Funeral Home in Berlin, New Jersey where the family will receive friends Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. 

A graveside will be held 11:30 Thursday, February 4, 2021 in the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, New Jersey.
