Rest in Peace, Edward

Sweeney, Edward "Ed" C., - Edward "Ed" C. Sweeney, 58 of Brigantine, NJ went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 5, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Dougherty) Sweeney. He was the devoted husband of Michele Sweeney with whom he spent many wonderful years with. Edward was a graduate of Overbrook High School in Overbrook, PA and then went on to attend a graduate from Vo-Tech as a stationary engineer. Edward bravely served his country in the U.S. Navy. Edward worked for Trump Plaza as a stationary engineer for many years before making a move to Pepco Energy Services and worked there for ten years before retiring due to colon cancer. Edward was a member of Local Union 68 for 35 years and served on their board for 13 years. Edward loved fishing in his Kayak and also swimming, especially when in the Florida Keys. Edward was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, Flyers and Eagles. Edward coached for the Brigantine Youth League for hockey, baseball, and football. Edward will be remembered by his family as a great man, husband, father, and grandfather. Edward's wife will always regard him forever as the love of her life. Edward will be missed and fondly remembered by his wife; Michele, daughters; Amanda, Kelly, son; Sean, grandson; Jackson, granddaughter; Jenna, sister-in-law; Valerie, nephew; Andrew, nieces; Sarah, Milca, great-niece; Noemi and dog companion; Missy.
