Rest in Peace, Matthew
Matthew J. Curran
Age 47 – St. Pete Beach, Fl, formerly of Williamstown
On Saturday, January 7th, Matthew James Curran passed away suddenly. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Born to Colette Wright and Patrick Curran, he was raised in Lindenwold and graduated from Overbrook High School in 1994. He worked for a construction company after high school before completing an apprenticeship and then becoming a Master Stone Mason. He joined his “Uncle Mike” at Dan Lepore and Sons and after a few short years, he became a foreman projecting his strong work ethic. In 2013, he completed an FAA-approved aircraft dispatcher certification course from Universal / Weather and Aviation, Inc., and soon after was hired by IAC/Expedia Global, LLC. Through his determination, dedication, hard work, and larger than life personality, in April of 2019, he became Director of Aviation for IAC. He loved aviation and was fascinated by the planes, travel, and being a problem solver for the company. Working with his colleagues gave him so much pleasure, and he felt like they were family. Most importantly, Matt was a loving and caring husband to his wife Cara, and devoted and supportive father to his children, Matty and Josie. Matt and Cara were a team and traveling together was a highlight of his life. Matt was also very involved when it came to being the biggest cheerleader at every football, wrestling, lacrosse, and soccer game for his beloved children, always on the sideline supporting them. His endless support made his children’s lives positive in every way. That was his main concern in life, to set the bar high for his children. He bestowed this exact high level of support in every aspect of his nieces’ and nephews’ lives as well. Matt also loved being with his immediate and extended family during the holidays. He especially loved fishing, crabbing, boating, and being at the “crik” and LBI with his cousins and friends. Matt kept everyone laughing with his outgoing personality and quick-witted humor, to know him was to love him. Matt loved Philadelphia and was an avid and devoted Eagles fan. To sum it up, he was a Renaissance man and had a vast knowledge of other subjects, too. His presence in life will be missed, and his legacy will carry on forever. There are no words to express how grateful and blessed we are to Cara and Matt’s neighbors and friend Mindy who were there for Cara and her family on the night of Matt’s passing. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the St. Pete Beach EMT for doing everything they could and to all of Cara and Matt’s friends and family for their love and support throughout the difficult days after. He is survived by his loving wife, Cara E., and his beloved children, Matthew and Josephine. Also, his loving mother Colette Wright and Michael Wright, his father Patrick Curran (late Myrna Curran), brother Patrick Curran (Angel), sisters Colette (Jay) Laughlin, Christine (Chris) Alcoba, his nieces Mia and Bella, nephew Nikita, and brother Kevin Curran. His mother-in-law Carol Neumann (late William E. Neumann), his brother-in-law William C. Neumann (Kristina), his niece Alexandra and nephew and godson William R.. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Sunday. January 15th from 1-3 pm at Ora L. Wooster Funeral Home, 51 Park Blvd, Clementon, NJ 08021. Monday, January 16th there will be a viewing at Ora L. Wooster Funeral Home between 8:00 – 9:30 am. Immediately following the visitation, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at 11:00 am, 135 North White Horse Pike, Lindenwold, NJ 08021.
