I remember vividly when Cheryl passed away. She was only 16 years old. It was my first introduction to the reality of death.....of a classmate. I remember she was dating Paul Gennaro.
I specifically remember her in the cafeteria, waiting in line for her lunch...and being kind to an underclassman....me.
The halls of Overbrook were shocked by her death...and mourned her loss.

Cherie was among my friends growing up in Pine Hill and, as kids, we never expect to lose friends this way. We drifted in high school, as most people tend to do, but we always remained very friendly. I remember going to visit her at her house when she was sick. She was such a strong person with a tremndous will to live but unfortunately her illness won. I had just lost my mother to cancer a few months earlier so Cherie's death was especially difficult for me to grasp.

Cherie was beautiful, inside and out, and will be remembered for her kindness and her bubbly personality.

Who will ever forget Cheryls exuberance and joy for life. She was one of a kind.

Did Cheryl have a sister named Denise?

Answer  to Barbara, Yes, Denise and Lenny were her younger brother and sister.

I also didn't know Barbara had also passed when I wrote this originally, God bless!
