In Memory

Robert T. McAllister - Class Of 1967

                                  Rest In Peace, Bob

May 14, 1949 - June 23, 2024

Robert Thomas McAllister, 75, of Collegeville, PA., passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Roland, and his two younger brothers, Bruce and Billy. Bob was born in Clementon, New Jersey, on May 14, 1949. He was a Vietnam veteran who served in the United States Navy from 1967-1969. He was married to Norma, the love of his life, for twenty years.

Bob had a dogged determination, was confident to the point of arrogance, and wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. He was audacious and brazen, particularly when it came to sales. He was always dressed to impress and impress is what he did. It was no wonder that Bob excelled while working for Equitable Life Insurance Company becoming the #1 district manager in the nation.

Bob was known for being corny, exaggerating his stories, making off-color remarks, driving like a lunatic, fixing things (or really, rigging things) in his own, unique Bob-like way, creating the most spectacular Christmas display for miles around, and holding up others on the golf course while also snapping at anyone who held up his golf game. While he wasn’t particularly known for having patience, especially when it came to standing in line, you could find him sitting in a tree stand for hours, with a Black & Mild hanging out of his mouth, waiting for that 10-pointer to walk through the brush.

He had a love for the outdoors, the beach, scuba diving, fishing, kayaking, music, playing the guitar, and going out on his boat, the Nor Rob, even when he found himself stuck on a sandbar, or two (or three).

Bob is survived by Norma, his children Robert (Krystal) and Laura, his grandchildren Ryan and Kennedy, and his brother, Danny. Bob McAllister was truly one of a kind and there isn’t a person who knew him that doesn’t have a funny story to tell to attest to that. He will be sincerely missed and lovingly remembered.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org
