I did not know Stanley very well but I was saddened to hear we have lost another classmate too soon. My prayers are with his family and he will live on in the hearts of those who remember him.
I was sad to learn that a Prince passed away. Anyone who new Stanley had only the fondest memories of such a truly good person. He will be missed by me. My siincerest condolences to the Kaufman family. May Stanley Rest In Peace.
Stanley was my neighbor in High School and we continued our friendship throughout the years. I attended several of his memorable parties in the DC area when he was working for the federal government. Among them -- Steeler parties with Mineo pizza flown/trucked/driven to his home in Rockville, a massive Pittsburgh party on the Capitol Hill grounds, and even a viewing party to celebrate Howie Gordon's adult film. He was a wonderful caring person who would keep the memories flowing (and create new ones) for all of us. His health was failing and couldn't make our 50th reunion, but afterwards he made me recount every single detail that I could remember. We will certainly miss him!
I was a friend of Stanley's from grade school (he lived near me but attended a different grade school), through Allderdice and beyond. My wife and I visited him in Washington, DC. He visited us in PGH, and then Colorado. We vacationed together in Aspen, CO several times as well. Stanley was always upbeat, happy and positive. He loved to party and attend sporting events of PGH teams. He was the real deal as a man and a human being. We will miss him dearly!
Stanley was a wonderful, friendly mensch of a guy. I feel lucky to have seen him a few years earlier at the Wightman School 50th reunion. I recognized him instantly then, as he aged a lot better than most of us! I never knew that he was ill, but remember missing him at the Allderdice 50th. Sad to hear that he left us much too soon.
Stan Kaufman and I were very good friends in high school and we continued our relationship through his life. He was devoted to his profession and served admirably in government service and left a legacy working with Senator Joe Lieberman and other government leaders on Environmental policy issues.
I had the pleasure spending time with him in Florida and knew full well the battle he fought. He was always positive and upbeat and never gave in.
I will truly miss him. He was indeed a very special person. May his light continue to shine in our hearts as we remember him.
I know that Stanley has a sister in Baltimore, but don't know contact information. I sure she would like to read these very touching notes about her brother! I'm hoping that someone in our class can share that information.
