Sorry to hear about Stanley. I remember him as a friendly person, upbeat, social, and a good natural athlete.

So sad to see this posting. Stanley Schmidt was Mr. Popularity for so many us going back to days at Linden School. And he had great hair. I remember Stanley's dad Ruby attending softball games at Wightman Field, with buffed penny loafers and very suntanned. And then he'd sometimes take a group of us to Del's for dinner.  Was amazed to learn that Stan became a recognized poet - no doubt his verses were sly and super-cool. Pleased to hear that he remained lifelong friends with Sally and Ralph Eggerman - and no doubt many others from Squirrel Hill. Though we had not spoken in decades, I always thought of him with affection - he had a true sparkle in looks and personality.....Allan Ripp

Very sorry to hear of Stan's passing.  Had a class with him as a Senior, and remember him as a very pleasant, upbeat person.  I hope his post high school years were great ones.
