Bill was a great guy, very talented artist. It was great seeing him at our recent reunion. Lived just a few streets from me in Lebo.  May he rest in peace.

Bill became my best friend when we were about five.  A big guy, we all remember him for his friendliness and smile.  He could brighten anyone’s day.  While in the Air Force we met in Okinawa during one of his TDYs.  Back in the States Bill once came by our house with a car on a trailer:  Frank Lloyd Wright’s red gull-wing coupe Mercedes Benz that he had just bought to restore.  Bill’s art was big and bold, and some of it made it to a White House art presentation.  Hangin’ with the big guys.  We agreed to meet back in Pittsburgh this past October for our 60th high-school reunion.  He had a great time sharing memories with everyone.  It was the last time I saw my buddy.  May God bless him and keep him close.

Since I only spent my last year at Mt. Lebanon, I had the pleasure of knowing of his work from an automatic transmission he and two other classmates prepared for a presentation in our senior Physics class.  It was an excellent display with precise, understandable commentary and humor accompanying the project.  (And looked like alot of work went into rebuilding the unit.)

Pete.

Bill Carman was my Odette in our senior year variety show take on Swan Lake.  Bill was a wonderful Odette and took the role very seriously.  He boureed on stage with great aplomb.  Bill and I shared memories of his star role in a reunion a decade ago!  Dear Bill will be missed by all of us!!!
