Roy Envall passed away on July 27, 2024, a few weeks shy of his 83rd birthday. He was born on 8-18-1941 and spent his youth in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, PA. After earning a degree in Electrical Engineering from Trine University, he settled in the Washington, DC area in the mid 1960's. He then began his long career in the patent industry at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He met Irene, the love of his life and wife of 55 years, while at Camelback Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania.
Roy was a true Leo, and people gravitated toward him to be near his jovial spirit. He often held court at the dinner table, sparking long conversations. He was an extremely honest, fiercely loyal, and dedicated family man. He spent countless hours at swim meets and supported all the people in his life in whatever they did. He was forever an optimist and had a keen ability to bring calm to almost any situation.
Roy and Irene were a true partnership, intertwined throughout their time together. They made each day at least a little bit special, enjoying regular happy hours, the fire pit, the Outer Banks, tailgates at Washington Redskin games, cruises, traveling the world, volunteering at Wolf Trap, and generally living life !
Roy is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Irene, two children and 6 grandchildren and a sister, Lynn Sekeres.
There two children wish to thank Irene for her continuous advocacy, knowledgeable support and dilgent care of our Dad.
