Doug and I got acquainted and were friends through Lincoln School and through the Mt. L. Methodist Church. I don't recall street football the way Al Hammond does, but I remember finding Doug shooting baskets in his backyard every time I went by his house. I do recall how nice and easy-going he was. Burton
Besides our street football we also had many 4 man basketball games in that driveway. Andy his younger brother Andy, Jim Miscavits a HS team member, and alot of other neighborhood Thugs participated. Those games sometimes went long into the night.
Our families on Marlin Dr. were very close, had alot of parties and the kids always ended up at the Muns home for popcorn, pop,(Soda if you prefer) and other deeds that might not have happened if our families had known what was going on.
I can't recall if you mentioned whether or not that he was also a Methodist church friend.
Yes, The Muns family and our's were very very close. I did try to get in touch with his older brother Skip but he never returned my E-Mail.
Doug will be missed.........Are you still practicing?
I remember Doug as the other redhead in our class at Lincoln. I also remember Mary Batten and I stopping on our way home from school for a pick-up kickball game on Marlin Dr. and getting home VERY late. We got into a lot of trouble, but the game was fun!
Al Hammond
Doug and I were neighbors on Marlin Dr. Their were many memories that I have of him and the entire Muns Family as our Family and his were very close. We played a lot of street football and he was about the only guy that I was faster than.
If anybody knows anything about his life and where he lived I would appreciate hearing about it.
