William Plummer suffered a heart attack, and passed away on July 11, 2012 at age 71 in Chelmsford, Mass.  He was born in Altoona, PA 2-17-1941.  He graduated from Mt. Lebanon HS and went on and obtained his bachelor and master's degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA.  Bill began his career in software engineering at MIT.  He then went on to work for Bolt, Beranck, and Newman, Inc.  in Cambridge, during which time he was involved in the development of the internet.  He then worked for Wang Labs and finally retiring from Paradigm Technologies Inc in Bedform, MA.  He volunteered with the American Cancer Society to drive cancer patients to doctor appointments and treatments.

Bill is survived by his longtime companion Connie Laubach, (2) sons, William of Brooklyn, NY and Christopher of Emeryville, CA and (1) brother, Richard, who preceded him in death.
