Elaine Schneider Bowser passed away on 7-26-2025 and was cremated on 7-28-2025.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on 7-31-2025 at the Bridgeville Funeral Home at 430 Washington Ave. Bridgeville, PA 15017.  Burial will be at 10:a.m at Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Child Church, 212 Station Street, Bridgeville, PA 15017.

Elaine graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1959 and St. Francis College, Loretta, Pa, in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts in English.  Following graduation from college, she married her college sweetheart, Donald S. Bowser.  Don and Elaine celebrated  61 years of marriage on June 27, 2025.

Elaine began her career as a high school English teacher at Chartiers Valley High School and then spent over two decades teaching English to freshmen and seniors at Lancaster Catholic High School.  Elaine was an avid reader, a passion she passed on to her husband and daughter, Gretchen Lee (Bowser) Jankowski.  She was a devout Catholic, having been an active member at St. Leo the Great Parish, Lancaster, PA, and St. Frances de Sales, Kilmarnock, VA.

Elaine and Don built their dream home in Kilmarnock, VA, where they lived after retirement.  The obituary doesn't say when or how they got from Virginia to Bricgeville, PA.
