Frederick W. Twitchell passed away 2-24-2023, at age 83.  He was born Christmas Eve, 12-24-1939 in Charleston, WV.  He was residing in Washington, MO when he died.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Melinda and his brother, Tom.  He has one brother Joe, and one daughter, Stephanie  that are still living.  He will have a military service and burial in St. Louis, MO.

Schooling was at Mt. Lebanon High School, Deerfield Academy, Lehigh University, and Washburn University.Fred served in the military first at Fort Jackson, SC and then to Fort Sill, OK.  After College he worked for Peat Marwick and Mitchel, IBM, and General Electric.  Sailing was a big part of Fred's life.  In 1972 he sailed from Huelva, Spain to San Salvador, replicating Columbus' voyage of 1492.

Fred and wife Melinda retired to Stuart,  FL, where Melinda preceded him in death in 2013 from a glioblastoma.

Fred's last years were spent in Washington, MO with his beloved companion, Suzanne Carroll, her daughter, Gay and her husband.
