Janet was a wonderful caring person and a fine musician. We were in the stage band together, but we were friends from elementary school. Her passing was quite a shock.
Had the opportunity to work for a few years with Janet when I was doing Outreach and Research for the Burn Trauma Center at West Penn Hospital. I walked into the unit and there she was, she looked the same as in high school. Janet was very well respected for the care and empathy she provided patients and their families.
After a few years, I changed jobs and we lost touch. I know she worked at Shadyside before her death. She was held in high regard by her colleages.
