Larry saved me from the unthinkable in chemistry (Dr Beck). Level-headed and conscientious beyond his years, Larry even matched Bunsen burners with the head of the class, David “Mickey” Flynn, class of 79. (Mickey actually deserves equal credit as savior of my grade.) Larry’s hard work must have served him well at Lehigh. As a wrestler, he was as civil as one can be on the practice mat, where I met him, at Mellon; his match opponents there and in high school saw a different side. Sadly, leukemia cut short what promised to be a productive life. His funeral was at a full St. Bernard’s.
