Linda and I were good friends in high school and classmates in college at Case Western Reserve and continued a long-distance friendship after that, meeting whenever we could and talking a lot by telephone.  She was the kindest and most forgiving person I have ever known.  She had great faith in Judaism, although she was by no means orthodox, and, consistent with the times, she blended her Jewishness with Eastern religious concepts and yoga into a wonderfully eclectic spirituality.  Her heart was so big and accepting that all this and a genuine love of people worked peacefully together in her sweet mind.

We were always close friends and came close to making it more than that a few times but asynchronously. When I got interested, she was someplace else, and vice versa.  But, this was actually a blessing.  My unsettled relationship with the wider world contrasted too much with her peaceful acceptance.  We were destined to be just friends.  My only regret is that she left this world way too soon. Rest in peace, you dear, sweet woman.

I am still thinking about Linda and still missing her very much.  She was a dear friend.
