DEBORAH CARMELLA ALESSE (CARRETTA)

Deborah Carmella Alesse (Carretta), age 59 of Upper St.Clair, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Family Hospice and Palliative Care in Mt. Lebanon after a courageous, six-year battle with breast cancer. She is survived by beloved and devoted husband of 35 years, Joseph; daughters, Lauren (Carl) Clark, Dr. Amber (Dr. Chris) Threadgill, and Shannon (Erich) Scheller; parents, Alphonse and Audrey Carretta; and brother, Daniel Carretta.

Deb enjoyed traveling with her husband and went on two trips to Europe. She also loved cooking, reading, sewing, crafts, gardening, and home projects, as well as spending time with her family. Walking in South Park with her dog, Mackenzie, was one of her favorite pastimes. She was a parishioner of St. Louise de Marillac Church. A cherished mother, wife, and daughter, she will never be forgotten for her selflessness, kindness to others, and devotion to her family.

Debbie lived across the street from me, and she was my best friend from the time we met at age 4. She was fun, kind, compassionate, loving, happy, thoughtful and the very best kind of friend to have. We played together constantly, walked to school together, went on double dates together, cried together and laughed together. She was the maid of honor at my wedding. I think about her often and miss her so much. RIP my dear friend.

Thanks Jan,  I couldn't find the obituary for Debbie that I had.  I was only able to submit the day we lost our best friend!
