Thomas A. "LA" LaPlace III, 56, of Baldwin Borough, died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009. Beloved son of Thomas A. Jr. and Janet (Lodie) LaPlace. Loving brother of Gary (Kathy), Steve (Donna), Shara (Tom) Bennett and Dan (Bonnie) LaPlace and the late Richard LaPlace, who is survived by Nancy LaPlace. Loving uncle of Cheri, Candice, Carly, Janna, Alicia, Lea, T.C., Dan, C.J., Looch, Nicholas, Gabby and Will and 10 great-nieces and -nephews. Also survived by his loving companion, Gabe. Tom was a member of Local Ironworkers Union 3 and a member of Beach Club Marina, New Eagle. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME INC., 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood. Funeral prayer at 9:15 a.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sylvester.
