David Winter

David Winter

Age 62, a man who caled Pittsburgh, Akron and Port Richey home, passed away suddenly Monday morning, surrounded by family, after a hard battle with cancer. Proceeded in death by his parents, John and Shirley Winter, David was an adoring husband to his wife, Dorothy "Annie" Winter, a beloved father to Jonathan Winter, Megan Winter, Tamara Peterson and Melanie (Josh) Phillips; a fantastical "Paz" to grandson, Deegan Phillips; a loving brother to John Douglas Winter and Richard and Denise Winter and an all around incredible man in whatever capacity he filled. David proudly served our country in the United State Air Force and worked over 30 years at the Goodyear Titre and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio. There wasn't a hobby he tried that he didn't excel at, and there wasn't a person he met who didn't instantly admire him.

Dave and I became friends at the 40th reunion and got together a couple times after. We got together for a great weekend at Heritage Blues Festival in 2014 and came to support me when I became ill. We were due to visit again when Dave became ill , he didn't let me know how bad it was and soon heard from his wife ,Amy that Dave had passed. Many knew Dave and I never heard a bad word about him.
