Jan FB Post by Laura's son, Max:
I'd like to preface this with an apology for the delay; I havent had access to a proper interface to type this out until today.
As some of you are already aware, my mother Laura Stuker passed away two weeks ago. She was surrounded by her family, including myself. Per her requests, no service was held, and she was cremated. The majority of her ashes will be planted along with a tree near her home. I will carry a small portion of them for the rest of my days.
She was an incredible fighter, and fought for - and won - an excellent and expansive life. There were many times we would joke about her being in a long distance relationship with death, but the truth is she loved living, and did so with a stubborn joy that never truly faded.
That kind of fight is exhausting on the mind and body, however, and after nearly a decade of cancer, she had exhausted herself in fullest sense. She is at peace now, and i cannot find sadness at her passing, only that she is no longer here.
Thank you all for being a part of her time here. I hope we get to meet some shade of her again someday.
