980 PHS Class Reunion this weekend.

Enjoy yourselves tonight and be safe. Shout out to Vicki Jo LeeLorraine Sercer MonganSarah Rose and Tonya Steele Starcher.

Vicki asked me to write a tribute to my brother, Jeff Bowden, a 1980 classmate whose life was taken too early. I started writing it 10+ times, but never finished as I kept getting choked up. Let's just say this, he was a young man who didn't know how funny, talented and popular he was. He made me laugh "hard" every day and I cried for 2 weeks after that fateful night. I still get choked up thinking about what could have been.

1980 classmates, I hope you had a chance to know him and hope he touched your lives in a positive way. I haven't met a person like him in the last 35 years, not likely to happen anytime soon. To honor him, take the time to inspire, mentor or compliment a young person in your lives, because the special people don't know they are special, so tell them, and often.

Enjoy your reunion weekend and keep Jeff and our family in your thoughts. He would've wanted you to enjoy this time together, so share with a classmate one of the many funny moments / stories from school, like when he got all tickled when he was able to throw out William Swarn "Billy" trying to steal second base in a babe ruth game at Franklin Park. Don't forget his favorite coach, Bill Cox. I got you started, keep it going to his memory. I love you all and hope your lives are going well. Cheers to PHS Class of 1980!!

Tammy Fry (Garding)

Jeff could be so funny. He was in one of my classes in 11th grade and he was teasing me one day and I still smile from when he said, "If life is a bowl of cherries, what am I doing with Tammy?". You couldn't help but to like him.
