Larry Moorman, 68, of Weatherford, passed away on June 7, 2014, at his home.

Larry was born in Fort Worth on March 17, 1946. He was raised in the Texas panhandle and graduated from Plainview High School in 1964. In 1983, he married Judy Frazier and they made their home in Weatherford for 27 years.

His career in the construction business began at an early age. After several years perfecting his craft, he followed natural disasters across the country appraising property damage for FEMA. He spent his later years in management and retired in 2012 as a construction superintendent overseeing the completion of numerous commercial buildings in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. His carpentry talent is reflected in the remodeling of their house into a cozy, inviting, western-rustic home.

His passions were rodeo and golf. He was a rodeo contestant in his early years and continued following professional rodeo throughout his life. He maintained life-time friendships made in the arena and on the golf course. Larry and Judy lived the western lifestyle, and he loved working with his horses. He was a cowboy.

Larry was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather, with strong bonds to family and his faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Betty Moorman. He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Cody Moorman; daughter, Shonda Briere and husband, Christian; daughter, Beni Vasquez and husband, Tim; grandsons, Colton, Chance, Ryder and Phoenix; brother, Garry Moorman; sisters, Pam Buntin and Vicki Sweere; nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many dear friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014, at the Parker County Cowboy Church in Aledo.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Parker County Cowboy Church Mission Fund.
