Warren Whitworth

GREENVILLE — Warren L. Whitworth, 59, of Richardson passed away May 31, 2010, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Dallas. A military graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Gould will officiate.
Warren was born Dec. 28, 1950, in Commerce to Frank and Lou Warren Whitworth. He attended Plano High School and received an associate’s degree in computer-aided drafting at Collin County Community College. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Plano.
Warren was a U.S. Army disabled veteran, having served as a combat infantryman in Vietnam and Cambodia; he obtained the rank of sergeant. He received numerous medals, citations and commendations, including the Air Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation and Bronze Star Medal.
His survivors are his parents of Richardson; a daughter, Alexandria; sister Angela Brooks and husband Jimmie of Plano; and a niece, Erica W. Moss and husband Scott of Valley Ranch.
The family request memorials be made to the SPCA or to a charity of choice.
