Pearl could spin a yarn, always a hundred fantasies in her head! I always had a feeling of sadness when I was around her, like everyone else, she just wanted to be happy and loved. So, she imagined (what she needed) as real. I hope she has found peace!

I remember Pearl having quite an imagination too ! Home life was kind of lonesome for her.

Pearl and I were great friends durring our days at PHHS as well for quite a few years after. She married twice and had a son from her second marriage. Some time around maybe our mid thirties my family, on one of our trips to Oregon, visited with her. At that time she told me she had cancer,a brain tumor. She moved back to Pleasant Hill after that. I saw her a few times and the lost track of her. Her Sister lives in Martinez,or used to. im thinking the tumor returned. Somewhere thaere was a method to her madness!!! lol I loved her, she was a good friend, and was devistated when I saw her name on the list.

I remember Pearl as we had several classes together during our years at P.H.H.S.  Yes she was sad.  I remember her talking about changing her first and last name.  I think the last name was changed to her mother's second husband?   Judy maybe you know more about that subject.  It seemed very important to Pearl.

I beleive Pearl started at PHHS with the last name Wilson.. Her parents were divorced. About our Jr. year she started with Meindersee her legal last name. I dont know why she changed. Her Mother may have remarried and she took her Step Fathers name. I couldn't feel her pain as I had enough of my own at home. As teenagers we try to overcome our pain by drawing attention to ourselves, hence the storytelling, exaggeration and name change. I do know she had a wonderful Son, who later became a pilot, whom she loved dearly! I wish I could of connected with her before she passed. We both could have done alot of storytelling, full of entertainment! lol. I miss you Pearl, my childhood friend.. One day we will continue our tales!
