I will never forget Don. He befriended me when I was the new kid from Washington in the 8th grade (8-16 at Pleasant Hill Intermediate). He was so welcoming to me when I was very insecure and trying to live in a very different world from my experience in life up until then. He always had such a great smile and I can still see it if I close my eyes. Rest in peace Don.

Don grew up around the coner from us on Oak Park Blvd. we spent a lot of time as kids playing down in the creek by the school. Don went on to be a Alaska state trooper, where they taught him to fly. His patrol area was huge. He worked with fish and game, because of the thousand miles of area he had to cover

I only knew Don in a general way but it is so nice to read both Jim Belding and jim Forneys' comments.

It's funny how those memmories and feelings are there just below the surface!

I am so sorry to hear about Don.  I lost contact with him just before the time of his passing.  He was living out in the woods in Idaho enjoying being the mountain man that he was.  He was a sweet soul.  Namaste, Don!

You are right Paul. Lovely to read about classmates thoughts about Don. I didn't know him well but remember a friendly outgoing guy. It's sounds like he lived life just the way he wanted.

I always liked Don so much & remember him fondly. I lost track of him straight out of high school & now I regret that our paths never crossed again. He was a dear, dear soul & it saddens me to hear of his untimely death.
