In Memory

Larry Maw

Larry B. Maw, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at the age of 81 at his home in Fairhope, Alabama.

He was born on July 11, 1944, in Ogden, Utah, to Eugene and Fern Maw. He grew up in Roy, Utah and went on to build a life centered on family, hard work, and kindness.

Throughout his life, Larry worked in education and rose to Superintendent of Schools in San Marcos, California, where he was known for his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic.

Outside of work, he and his wife Pam, of 42 years, enjoyed golf, RVing and spending time vacationing with friends. In his earlier years he loved fishing, camping and riding motorcycles. Those who knew him will remember his sense of humor, generosity, wisdom, and strength.

Above all else, he cherished his family. He took great pride in watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren grow and thrive. He was always there with encouragement, advice, or simply a listening ear. His love and guidance shaped the lives of those closest to him and will continue to inspire us.

He is survived by his children Kristin (Chad) Opper, Darin (Desiree) Maw, Ryan (Brooke) Green, and Tara Green Ferrone.

He is also survived by his brother, Dennis (Linda) Maw; and his sister, Janet Talbot.

He was a proud grandfather to Danica, Erica, Carson, Madeline, Jacob, Kate, Garrison, Jackson, Braeden and Hudson and was blessed with great-grandchildren Charlotte, Baylor, Mary Collins and recently born, Wilson.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer Eugene Maw and Gladys Fern (Bills) Maw; his wife, Patricia Ann (Moore) Maw; his brother, Alan G. Maw; and his brother-in-law, Michael J. Talbot.

Though he is no longer with us, his love, lessons, and memories will remain in our hearts forever. He will be truly, deeply missed and remembered always.

Forever in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Plain City Cemetery, 4373 West 1975 North, Plain City, Utah.
