A giant of a man left a huge hole in our hearts as he passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning at the age of 47. Mike was born to the loving parents of Marvin and Jan Shaw in North Ogden, Utah.

He was the big brother to three siblings. He attended North Ogden Elementary, North Ogden Jr. High, and graduated from Weber High in 1986. He was so proud of his sports achievements including the infamous State Football Championship against Davis his senior year.

Mike served a valiant two years in the London South, England LDS Mission from 1988-1990. In the spring of 1991, he met Karin Middleton, and they became instantly inseparable. They married in the Ogden Temple on December 10, 1991.

Her world revolved around him, and he was adored. They always supported each other in every aspiration, too many to count. They had many adventures including the birth of their four daughters; Sierra (20), Camberly (17), Rio (14), and Brighton (13). These girls were his whole world, and Mike worked hard to provide an amazing life in Hooper, Utah.

Mike graduated from Weber State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in forensic science and biology. He put his skills to use as a crime scene investigator before going back to school to become a journeyman and master plumber. He worked with several companies before opening and running SCRB Plumbing, Inc. for seven years. He was currently working as a salesman for Mountainland Supply Company, covering a wide area of Utah and Wyoming.

Mike had a lot of hobbies, but his passion was fishing. Whether in a lake, stream, or ocean, it didn't matter. He enjoyed his getaways to the Silver King Lodge in Alaska to chase after salmon. He also had a lot of talents, but the one he will most be known for was his friendship. He has touched lives all over the world and could make a loyal, fierce friendship with anyone in seconds.

Mike is survived by his wife and daughters; his parents and siblings: Lex (Holly) Shaw, AnDreea (Chad) Allen, and Trevor Shaw; many aunts, uncles, cousins; and an enormous amount of friends.

Our hearts are completely broken knowing his heart gave out, and that it will be a while until we can feel those loving arms around us, hold those gentle, strong hands, and hear that unmistakable laugh again. As a family, we would like to thank all those who have cried, offered prayers, given strength, brought comfort of all types, or just loved Mike.
