Practically a classmate!  Glad we were able to touch base in Colorado.  You will be missed.

Mary and I were neighbors and close friends. When I was in fourth grade, we moved across town to the Old Village, and I switched from Roselle Ave to Bedford Rd school. Our homes were connected by a network of driveways, we found eachother, and spent a lot of time together for many years. I remember going with her family to their summer home in CT one year and having homemade applesauce for the first time, made by her mom who was a fabulous cook. The network of driveways included a short but steep hill--or so it seemed at the time--and we would put on our roller skates at the top (the kind that clamped on to your shoes and for which there was a key to tighten them) and go straight down, somehow managing to stop before crashing into their garage door. I think we were lucky that neither of us got hurt! As we got older and Mary started commuting to high school, we saw less of each other. We were both at the Denver Reunion some years ago; I was surprised and delighted to see her, and as I recall, quite emotional at the unexpectedness of it and the flood of memories.

Does anyone have details or contact information for her family?

Prayers and blessings to her and her memory.

One of a kind, indeed. She had a real talent for keeping in touch with her friends. Mary and I met in third grade and went through high school together. We stayed in touch all these years with birthday phone calls and occasional visits. She was predeceased by her brother and her sister. Mary was widowed twice and never had children of her own. She was very close to her nephew, Mike Hill. He took care of her at the end, and called me when he recognized my name in her address book. Unfortunately I don’t have an address for him, but I will let him know of your kind words when I talk with him again. RIP Mary.
