Yesterday, March 1-- on what would have been his 77th birthday-- we learned that Bruce Miller passed away. A brief obituary from Omaha reported: Bruce died on February 20th, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents: Buford and Wilda Miller ; and sister: Beverly Miller. Survived by his significant other, Colette Clements and many, many friends. There will be a funeral service in Omaha on Tuesday, March 7 (RoederMortuary.com for more information on service/donations in his memory)
In her note notifying us of his death Colette wrote: Bruce had fond memories of his classmates and spoke often about us and Pleasantville. He was a kind man, sensitive to his students and community and lived a fine life.

Photo of Bruce and Colette taken at our 50th reunion in 2014. So glad Colette and Bruce came to our 50th. I remember playing little league baseball with Bruce in 7th or 8th grade. When our team was winning by a lopsided score like 14-2 and everybody on our team was getting a walk or a hit, Bruce would shout out, "Nice day for a parade" as we circled the bases. I think Bruce was a Cincinati Redlegs fan. He used to call himself "Bruce-The-Goose-Gus-Bell-Terry-Miller". Quite a nickname, don't you think ? Rest in Peace Bruce.

I sat with Bruce and Colette at the Boulder reunion and had a great time getting to know them. Such lovely people and a couple. So sorry for her loss.Bob (Robie) Roemer
I was with Bruce in school since Kindergarten and we spent many hours playing basketball at each others houses. He was also on the initial PHS Cross Country team with me in the fall of 1961. Bruce's memory of past school events was amazing and we would love to recount past adventures. I will always remember Bruce as a mild mannered and kind person with a good sense of humor. To me losing Bruce is a tough pill to swallow and I was so happy that he choose to come to our 50th reunion although I never had any doubt that he would be there. So sorry that he now occupies a place on the "In Memorium" list but when I think of Bruce it will always put a smile on my face.

Hi this is Mike De Nero
Of course I remember Bruce.
I lived one street over from Sutton Place where they lived. I think that they were from Texas. I remember Beverly too. Although she was younger she would usually be around.
My home isnow in Southern California I just visited Pleasantville in November for the first time in many years.
I was there with my SO Tammy and that day I did drive down Sutton Place and pointed out the Millers house to Tammy and told her one of my friends Bruce Miller lived right there.
I'm sorry to here that he has passed.

Bruce and I connected at the 50th reunion. He reminded me that we spend the day after graduation together where we explored our local abandoned schoolhouse from the 20's. Apparently, he left for Oklahoma the next day and the 50th was his first return to the east coast. You may not of noticed at the 50th but he and Colette were quite the dancing couple.
