Pierre Phillip Xavier Lafitte passed away September 2016 at Littleton Regional Hospital. Pierre was born January 22, 1946 in New York to parents of Parisian decent. He resided in Littleton, N.H. Pierre was well-known for his love of teaching and dedication to his students as a coach, mentor, teacher, and father figure to many. His uinique teaching style and zest for life made learning an enjoyable experience. There isn't a home in Littleton that wasnt touched by him in some way. Pierre enjoyed dedicating his time to the communtiy and organizations promoting the growth and education of the young. Pierre was a true lover of all things athletic. He was a member of the NH Baseball Association for 50 years and the NH Softball Association for 38 years. He was an NH Softball Umpires Association Hall of Fame member, NHIAA Softball Committee member and NHSUA Supervisor of officials, softball assignor of officials and the past president of NHSUA. As a Class M Girls basketball coach he won the State Championship three consecutive years from 1981-1984. He was a two time recipient of the Class M Coach of the year award and was awared the NH State Coach of the year from the NH Coaches Association. He was also well known for his 31 years of broadcasing Littleton sports for WLTN. He was a two time recipient of the Golden Mic Award from the NH Association of Broadcasters. He recieved the John Clark Award for officiating and the James Desmarais Service Award. Friends were always encourged to drop in and visit , everyone always felt welcome in his presence. He will be remembered for his witty jokes, contagious laugh , the love for his family and grand children and of course his garden and tomatoes. He is survived by his loving wife Denise Lafitte, his two daughters, Danielle Cook and Janine Gilboy and his son Jon Pierre Lafitte as well as his seven grandchildren He is also survived by his brother Michel Couret of Merrimack, NH.

So sorry to learn of Pierre's passing. Though I did not know him very well, we did have lockers next to each senior year. He always greeted me with a friendly smile and pleasant conversation. According to his obit, his many accomplishments and successes in life were outstanding and commendable, and it is obvious that he maintained his positive, welcoming personality throughout his life.
