We recently learned that Don passed away from a sudden heart attack on 10/12/15.
After PHS Don went on to Cornell University The College of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced for over forty years, with the last 30 spent in Brooklyn running an affordable care clinic for small animals. I couldn't find an obitiuary for Don, but did find a number of testimonials from his clients. Some of the comments included: "kindest and gentlest vet in the Tri-state area"/"he once even got down on the floor to hold my baby (newly adopted kitten) while he took tests"/"I have never seen anyone gentler and kinder to animals (this comment was made by someone with 20 years of experience rescuing feral cats)/ "kind, devoted, hardworking animal lover"/"our beloved Doctor Robinson".
Nice testimonials! Our quiet classmate did well in his chosen field. We're proud of him!

Fred Higham shared his memory of Don:
When I think of Don I remember running beside him on the PHS Cross Country Team. In our senior year, as co-captain along with Robie, Don was always encouraging his teammates to do better. I remember being able to keep up with Don for most of a race, but invariably towards the end, Don always seemed to have the ability to reach down a little deeper for something inside himself, pick up the pace and leave me in the dust. He was always very serious about improving his times. Don also brought those same attitudes of self improvement and encouragement to his fellow teammates on the track and field team, where he specialized in the half mile.
Don attended our 50th reunion in June 2014, where the photo above was taken. As you may have noticed on the January eCard of birthdays, Don's birthday was listed as the 30th. If you are so inclined , on the 30th lift your mug/glass and make a toast in memory of Don, a fine classmate and a very caring and admired small animal veterinarian.

I remember dancing with Don at the teen centre above the police station in Pleasantville in the 8th grade. a lovely young man, and I was sweet on him.
