In Memory

Dennis Eugene McMillin

OCTOBER 25, 1951 – JANUARY 17, 2023

Dennis Eugene McMillin passed quietly in his sleep at his home in Rancho Cucamonga in the morning of January 17th, 2023. He was known by his family and friends as “Denny.” He is survived by:

His loving wife of 46 years, Robyn Blevins McMillin, son Matthew Dennis McMillin, daughter-in-law Stephanie McMillin, most precious granddaughter Miss Claire McMillin, mother Mrs. Jeannette Garza and stepfather Mr. Lonnie Garza, brothers Glen McMillin, Phil McMillin, Brian McMillin, Lonnie Garza and sister Regina Crane and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Southgate, California in 1951, the family moved to Pomona, California shortly thereafter where Denny grew up.

In his teens, Denny discovered the “Rock-n-Roll” Revolution that ignited his gift for music and before long he taught himself to play the guitar, piano, and banjo. His talent and love of music remained a vital blessing for the rest of his life.

Sometime in the late 60’s or early 70’s, Denny and a buddy decided to hitchhike across America. Eventually Denny tired of the hobo lifestyle and caught a ride back home.

Back home, Denny’s cross-country experience and spiritual seeds planted by his godly mother in his youth, brought Denny to the realization that God had been calling him to the ministry.

Denny determined to be of service to God and soon enrolled in a VERY intensive Discipleship program which included traveling to missions centered outreaches throughout the region.

Sometime after that Denny met Robyn Blevins (known to family as “Robbie”), through a friend. Denny and Robyn were married in 1976 and they remained active in Christian service for many years. Although working fulltime in the printing trade, Denny earned bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Divinity and he and Robyn ministered for years at Lantherman State Hospital where they aided in bringing the disabled children and adults to the church service on campus. Also, they ministered at a hospice and a church shut-in in and around the Pomona Valley.
