Doris Jean Milton

Doris Milton was born on October 13, 1952 to Collies and Adline Milton in Mobile, Alabama, the fourth of seven children. Doris attended Pomona High School and graduated in 1970. Also, in 1970, Doris became the proud mother of a son Troy Collies Adams. Doris attended Cal State University, Los Angeles and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Education in 1974 and also a Life Teaching Credential in Business from the State of California. Doris worked for the Los Angeles Unified School District as a Business Education Instructor and then for the City of Los Angeles as an Administrative Analyst to the City Council. Later Doris accepted a position with the City of Lynwood as the Community Development Coordinator. On October 3, 1980 Doris’s life was tragically and permanently altered as a result of an automobile accident where she suffered severe brain trauma, ultimately leaving her disabled until her death. Doris had 6 sisters and brothers DeGloria (deceased), Linda (deceased), Fay, Larry (deceased) Chris and Michael.

Doris Milton was a loving and giving Mother, Daughter and Sister who had a successful and active young life until age 27.

Doris departed this life on February 7, 2019 and leaves to cherish her memory a son, Troy Sr., Grandson Troy Jr., daughter-in-law Jackie, sister Fay, brother-in-law Monty, and brothers Christopher and Michael, sisters-in-law Shauneice and Melissa, Aunt Winnie Bee, nieces, Lisa, Lori, Danna, Natalie, Gloria, Shaunael, and LaShonta, nephews; Davey, Mike II, Dylan and grand nieces and nephews.
