Octavia Lolita (Woods) Gray was born December 11, 1951 to William C. Woods Sr. and Naomi B. Woods. She was born in Kansas City, KS and grew up in Kansas then moved to California where she graduated from Pomona High in 1970.

She attended San Joaquin Delta College and obtained her AA in Criminal Justice. She was employed by Klienfeld CPA and later in life by SJ County as an administrative assistant. She served her country in the U.S.A.F. Reserve for 31 years attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant.

In 1974 her son Toussaint was born in Pomona, CA. In 2000, she started working for SJ Public Health and worked there until her homegoing.

In 1983, while service in the U.S.A.F. Reserves at Travis AFB, she met her husband Rev. Roger Gray. They joined in marriage July 2, 1984 and remained married until her passing.

Octavia was preceded in death by both her parents William C. Woods Sr. and Naomi Woods, her sister Carol Johnson, and brothers - Clifford Woods, William C. Woods, Jr., Robin Woods, Scott Woods, and Wendell Woods. To cherish her memory, she leaves her loving husband Rev. Roger Gray of 37 years, her son Toussaint, her stepson Alvin Finney, her brothers - Paul Woods (Coretha), Guy Woods (Harrietta), Craig Woods, Brooks Woods, Cynthia Dudley (Bobby), Diane Jenkins, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
