Obituary for Stephen Jon Jacobs

Stephen John Jacobs was born in Portland, Oregon, August 26th, 1945, to Fred and Louise Jacobs. He went to see his best friend Jesus on May 24th, 2024. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland and attended the University of Oregon and Portland State. He married his high school sweetheart Georgia Cox in 1966.

His love for people led him to become general manager of Rian’s restaurant for almost 20 years. During that time his desire to have “a cabin in the woods” became a reality that led to moving from the Cedar Mill area to the Skamania County to build his home there. He and Georgia started Jacobs’ Services Inc. in 1985. Through janitorial and yard maintenance services, they met many wonderful people in the county that they count as friends. Steve’s true love was music and singing. Over the years, he was involved in leading worship at church and being involved in choir, either as a member or as a leader.

Besides being a football addict and a Nascar fan, he loved to travel. Acquiring an R.V. in 2013, he and Georgia managed to visit every state and province in a series of trips. During those trips, he always took the opportunity to share his love of Jesus and give out Bibles.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is Survived by his wife of 57 years, Georgia, his son Heath Jacobs, daughter Alycia Peters (Jim), three grandchildren Josie, Austin, and Bill and two great-granddaughters.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 7th at Park Hill Cemetery in Vancouver at 1:00 PM. A celebration of life on Saturday June 8th at Carson Nazarene Church at 92 Dalen Street, Carson WA at 11:00 AM potluck will follow.
