Johnny Clay (Clay)

Robert W.McGinnis passed into the the new realm March 26,2011 at his home in Soiux City,Iowa. Some of you may or not remember Robert but I do. Robert was a member of the class of 70, but chose not to complete his senior year instead opting to enlist in the Marine Corp a few weeks before graduation. I remember trying to talk him out of it but his mind was made up,and when Robert's mind was made up it was made up; a trait that he held until his last day. Though he didn't actually graduate (receiving his G.E.D. in the Corp) from Lincoln I feel it appropiate to include him here on our site. Robert joined the Marines and served honorably, participating in the Granada Invasion and several other combat associated ventures of the United States. Robert left the service and became a professional truck driver because he loved the open road and seeing new places. He was based in the Houston Area before deciding to relocate to Souix City which became his final home. He once told me that he wished that he'd waited to march but what was done was done. Robert was laid to rest April 5,2011 with full military honors in a private family ceremony in Veterans Memorial Cemetary located in Houston,Texas.

I simply wish to salute Robert, I will miss him and will alway's consider him a classmate and a member of the Class of 70. He leaves behind to honor his memory his Brother Jimmie McGinnis a 1972 Lincoln Grad.
