I was surprised and sad to learn about Bernard Obot's passing. Besides being besties at FGCPH, Bernard and I went to Port-Harcourt Primary School together and lived almost next door in Amadi Flats, PH. While at Port-Harcourt Primary School, we gravitated towards one another because in a class of about twenty, we were two of only three Nigerians. Our expat classmates were wonderful and we had good times with them but there were jokes and sayings that were particular to locals that we understood and enjoyed together. He had a really wicked sense of humor, an astute mind and was sharper than a razor. But, most importantly, he was a good person and an excellent friend! Bernard, may you rest in peace and though we have not seen in many years, you will be VERY fondly remembered.

Your classmate, neighbor, friend, and accomplice. Joy-Marie Abulokwe-Krapp!

Really nice tribute, Joy-Marie. I still remember his white teeth and kind smile. Every inch an ajebutter like you, unlike some of us home boys. I hope his sister Josephine is doing well.

Rest in peace, Bro...

Bernard was one first class mates to "change his address permanently", a real shocker all those years ago.  I remember his smile well.  Continue to rest in perfect peace my friend.  One day we will meet again.
