Shannon Ruth McCarty, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, entered into rest on June 15, 2011 at the age of 39.Shannon was born on July 16, 1971 in Victoria, Texas. She is survived by her loving parents Wallace and Mary McCarty, her brother Barry McCarty, and sister Heather McCarty Underwood along with her husband David and children Reed and Devyn, all of San Marcos, Texas. Preceding her to a heavenly rest is her sister Erin Rose McCarty. She received both a bachelor and masters degree in elementary education from Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN. Shannon was a loved and masterful teacher in Fayette County schools in Tennessee for eleven years. Shannon was a devout Christian with HOPE! She fought her cancer without fighting her lot in life, trusting fully in God's will. She was a faithful member of the Lord's body at Highland Church of Christ in Memphis, TN and University Church of Christ in San Marcos, TX. Shannon "flew away" peacefully at home with her family and friends gathered around her.
