I remember that friday i aws thinking of selling my 79 Z28 and he walks and ask if I would conseder a trade for a blue VW bug and told him I would let him know something monday morning , monday never came!!
Russ would always tell me he was jealous because being able to draw would "get more girls", but he was just being nice. I appreciated the fact that he always talked to me like he did anybody else, even though most did not. Knowing him made all the difference.
Russ was one of those guys who made you feel like you were special. He looked at you when you talked to him and he laughed at you when you hit the wrong note or where in lala land when you should of been playing music. I was at Fort Sam Houston doing training when I heard about Russ. I'll never forget his smile.
Russ passed away in December of 1989. He was killed in a car accident on Hwy 87 leaving Victoria Texas.
