Michael lived his adult life in Paris, France and died of natural causes on December 30, 2018. Survived by sister, Kathy and many friends. ‘67 classmates will remember his laughter, musical talent, kindness and endless conversations -RIP.
I went to the junior prom in 1966 with Mike. We went as good friends and we had so much fun. We doubled with Nancy Latton and Bill Armson, who were the king and queen. After the prom, we went to a post prom party at the Elk's Club. Early in the morning, we went to D&G Donuts for breakfast. There was a rubber chicken hanging in their shop which for some reason was really hilarious at the time. Funny the things I remembered when I started thinking about Mike. He played a shepherd at Biblical Gardens at the Dells one summer after graduation. Got to see him in his shepherd robe and headgear when Celeste Shafer (class of 1966) and I went to visit him while he was at work. What great times. Mike was one of a kind.
I was on the newspaper staff with Mike. I remember that he was very smart and fun to be around. If I remember right, I was in a fun car pool for awhile with him and Jane Krouscup. When Mike was a shepherd at BIblical Gardens, Jane and I were over at Storybook Gardens as Little Red Riding Hoods, with Susie Jay as Little Bow Peep. I remember us visiting him, and thinking that it was hillarious to see him, of all people, playing that part in that location. It was a long time ago, but I'm sure he had a few witty words for us! Sad to hear that he is not with us anymore, but as said, he was one of a kind and not afraid to get out there and follow his Dream.
I remember Mike's smile and wonderful sense of humor. He made me feel so welcome as the 'new' kid. I also remember visiting him when he worked at Biblical Gardens in the Dells. He was a very special person. RIP Mike.
