What a brave man.  So proud to be his friend.  RIP Glenn. So enjoyed your intelligence, sense of humor, and integrity.  You were one of a kind. So many memories for me.  Our country is indebted to you and all like you.

On November 11, 2023, Glenn Schneiter passed away of natural causes while sitting in the backyard of his home. He was born in Fond du lac, Wi to Howard and Jean Schneiter on November 14, 1949.

The family moved to Portage when Glenn was 4 and he lived there until graduation in 1967, Glenn attended UW Madison for 2 years before joining the US Marines and entering Officer Candidate School and pilot training. Among his many military stations was the Naval Air Station in Pensacola. He bought a house in Perdido Key but continued to serve at other bases within the Marines. Glenn returned to Perdido to live after retiring in 1991.  He eventually  moved to Pensacola and worked for Adams Homes there until retiring again in 2021. Glenn was an avid reader, loved animals and had recently become a steady user of the Pensacola Library where he met other retired military friends.

Preceded in death by his mother, Jean.

Survived by his father, Howard of Portage, sister, Peg Lavold (Steve) of Waunakee and brother Jerry (Mary Ann) of Portage; four nephews, Matt, Adam and Mike Lavold and Jon Schneiter; ten grand nephews and nieces also survive him; as well as Bonnie, a Pensacola friend for many years.

We are very grateful to have her friendship and help with Glenn over the years, and especially now.

Family services and internment will be held at a later date at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du lac.
