I just learned today that Yvette had passed away. I remember listening to her share her testimony and was always impressed with her spirituality and conviction.
Yvette and I were best friends in High School. We spent a lot of time together and took a lot of the same classes. I remember what a beautiful singing voice she had and how artistic she was. I appreciated her friendship and example to me. She moved to Springfield, Missouri and we kept in touch for a while and then I lost track of her. I'm sorry to hear that she passed away.
Yvette was diagnosed with Diabetes as a baby. It was because of her mother observations that she was diagnosed and survived. She received insulin injections her whole life.
We were friends all through high school. She was a sweet and loving sister to her little sister and respectful to her mother. She moved to Missouri and I lost track of her.
Yvette, Sherri Gunn, MaryAnn and I had a club where we would get together and have parties during dances. It didn't last but it was fun to tease each other about not getting asked to dances.
Yvette deserved so much more than she got in her short life. I am sorry she is gone.
Having moved to Provo my junior year of high school I didn't know that many people. Yvette and her circle of friends quickly became some of my best friends at Timpview. I admired Yvette for her kindness and great spirituality. She was always a great example to me. Yvette was and always will be a great leader. I'll always remember her smile and quiet dignity. May she always know that her friends greatly admired her for the friend and person she was.
