Liesel Smith

Obituary:

Liesel Marlene Smith 1982 ~ 2007

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing on Friday, July 6, 2007 of our beloved daughter, granddaughter and sister, Liesel Marlene Smith. Liesel was born January 3, 1982 to Richard S. and Heidi M. Smith, in Provo, Utah. As an exuberant little girl, she brought lots of excitement and happiness to all members of her family. She attended Canyon Crest Elementary, Farrer Middle School and Timpview High School with the class of 2000. Over the past several years she has worked as a department manager at Lowe's Home Improvement Center in Orem, where she has greatly enjoyed both assisting customers and associating with co-workers. Liesel was high-spirited and quick-witted. She was opinionated and never hesitated to share her opinions with others. She loved her books and her art, and she was so very fond of her small pet bunnies. She had an infectious sense of humor and laughed frequently, and when she turned on her slightly crooked smile, those around her had to smile as well. And yet, despite the confidence she showed on the outside, inside she had the tender feelings of a little girl. She was always a favorite with friends and family. Her brothers and sisters in particular loved to be with Liesel and when they were together she was frequently the center of attention. She is survived by her paternal grandmother, Marla Ewart, her maternal grandfather, Max B. Weaver, her parents Richard S. and Heidi M. Smith, brothers and sisters, Kennon Michelle, Tierney Nicole, Richard Max, Jesse Scott and Meghan Marielle, and many aunts, uncles and cousins, and two little nieces. We will all miss her very, very much. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2007 at the Riverwoods Ward Chapel at 300 West 4800 North (the continuation of Orem Center Street close to the Shops at Riverwoods) in Provo. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Berg Mortuary, 185 East Center Street in Provo, and again from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Riverwoods Ward Chapel prior to the funeral services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to info@bergmortuary.com
