Jim Dudley
May 20, 1963 - March 16, 2026
With a heart as vast as the great state of Utah from which he hailed, Jim Dudley, lovingly known by many as "Jim", "Dud" or "Bumpa", departed this world for a grander project on March 16, 2026. Born in Provo, Utah on May 20, 1963, Jim was a bonafide funny bone, known for his quick wit that could make a stone-faced statue crack a smile. He was the embodiment of a loving husband, a supportive father, a generous brother, and a very proud Bumpa. His reputation as the life of the party will surely continue in the hereafter.
Jim was a self-proclaimed football fanatic, who split his loyalties between BYU and the Chargers, and a project manager by profession, spending over two decades with the American Honda Motor Co. He was a fervent reader and was often found deep in a book or behind a computer screen, either solving tech mysteries or, more likely, looking up football stats. Jim’s generosity extended far beyond his family, but it was his loved ones who knew him best. Family was his north star, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Jim leaves behind his wife, Janine Dudley; his children, Chris Dudley, Brianna (Logan) Slater, Spencer Henrie, Justin (Shannon) Henrie, and Connor Dudley; his sisters, Brook (Jeff) Keith, Allison (Ed) Riding, Becky Dudley, and Cindy Hafen; his grandchildren, Jack Slater, Wrenly Slater, Faye Slater, Grayson Trujillo, and Maddison Bandley. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gayle Dudley, and his niece, Cecily Humble.
A private family gathering will be held from 2:30-4:30 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2026 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. https://bergmortuary.com/obituaries/james-dudley-2026
