Janelle (Cash) Hanzlick, 61, of Highlands Ranch and Pebble Creek, Ariz., was born in Pueblo, Colo. She lost her brave battle with cancer at home surrounded by her family on Dec. 1, 2009. Janelle graduated from Pueblo Centennial High School, Class of 1966, and attended the University of Southern Colorado, where she obtained her Master of Arts degree in education. She is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Michael Martucci (Brady); stepson, Cory Hanzlick; stepdaughter, Michele Long (Mark); brothers, Larry Cash and James Cash (Irene); and her five grandchildren, Cavanaugh, Evansten, Amanda, Jessica and Klorissa. Janelle will be remembered by her family and many friends as a person who loved life and loved to laugh. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, stepmother, mother-in-law and grammy.

Janelle and I were tight friends in high school.  I remember her as being friendly, a loving friend, very smart, encouraging to others, and one of my best friends.  We talked openly quite a bit about life, friendships and loved having fun together. I enjoyed walking her to class and one of the things I have missed since high school is spending time talking with her and her smile.  We were never romantic with each other but I treasured her sense of humor.  She was very unique and easy to be around.  God Bless her family and friends.
