Joe and I grew up together, going through all 12 yrs of school. He was a super guy, a great ball player nas an all around nice person. When my brother told me waht had happened, I couldn't believe it. Joe will be well missed and he would have loved to been able to go to this reunion. In Gods loving hands... Lisa
Joe was my friend from the first day of elementary school -Riverlawn the then new section in Mrs Ellswick's class.Once joe and I wanted to see who could gather up more (rice for Joe,biscuits for me) from our classmates's lunches,we spent the whole lunch period hoarding up so when it came time to leave our plates were running over.We thought we would just dump it all but Mrs Ellswick(I hope I am spelling her name right)wouldn't allow us to waste so much food so instead of going back to class,Joe and I had to eat all our ill-gotten gains. We both ended up sick ,but wiser. Joe was a good Father, brother, and son. It hit me hard when Ernie told me,he was my friend. Tim Alley
Some of my fondest memories were playing football with Joe, from sandlot at Riverlawn to Dublin Middle and PCHS. I remember Joe, Jeff Harvey and Bobby Mitchell walking from New River to Riverlawn to practice everyday. They would stop by Soo-Choo in Fairlawn and buy a helment full of bubble gum, then they would meet me at my house to go to practice. We did this for several years. I also remember going up against Joe in the bull-in-the-ring drill at practice and I was scared, but he took it easy on me. He always had the biggest smile. I had not seen Joe in many years, but I remember him like it was yesterday. You are in God's hands now and I bet you are smiling.
